A FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
TEXAS HEALTH HARRIS METHODIST HOSPITAL ALLIANCE (THAL) WAS FORMED IN 2011 FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING AND OPERATING AN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL TO SERVE THE NORTH TARRANT COUNTY POPULATION.IN SEPTEMBER 2012, THAL OPENED ITS DOORS, WITH 51 STAFFED BEDS TO IMPACT LIVES WITH ITS COST-EFFICIENT, HIGH-QUALITY HEALTH CARE, PERSONALIZED APPROACH AND WELL-BEING INITIATIVES. THAL IS A FULL-SERVICE HOSPITAL WITH 151 BEDS THAT OFFER EMERGENCY CARE, WOMEN AND INFANTS' SERVICES WITH A LEVEL III NEONATAL ICU, SURGICAL SERVICES, A THERAPY CENTER, IMAGING AND RADIOLOGY, GENERAL MEDICINE, AND COMMUNITY WELLNESS AND EDUCATION RESOURCES. DURING THE YEAR, THAL HAD 29,129 PATIENT DAYS, 8,087 DISCHARGES, 46,765 OUTPATIENT ENCOUNTERS, 39,211 EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS AND 1,993 BIRTHS. THAL PROVIDES QUALITY MEDICAL HEALTHCARE REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, AGE, OR ABILITY TO PAY. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING MEDICARE AND MEDICAID FOR REIMBURSEMENT THAT DOES NOT ALWAYS COVER THE COST OF PROVIDING THE CARE. RECOGNIZING ITS MISSION TO THE COMMUNITY, SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO BOTH FINANCIALLY INDIGENT AND MEDICALLY INDIGENT PATIENTS. COMMUNITY BENEFIT IS PROVIDED THROUGH MANY REDUCED-PRICE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY. THESE SERVICES ARE ESSENTIAL TO PROVIDING COMPLETE HEALTHCARE TO THE COMMUNITIES SERVED. THAL PARTNERS WITH LOCAL EMERGENCY RESPONDERS IN THE "VIAL OF LIFE" KIT DISTRIBUTION. IN AN EMERGENCY, TIME IS CRUCIAL. THE "VIAL OF LIFE" KIT ENABLES EMERGENCY RESPONDERS TO QUICKLY LOCATE HELPFUL INFORMATION.
