THE MISSION OF THE YUBA-SUTTER FARM BUREAU FUND FOR AG EDUCATION IS TO EDUCATE STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC OF WHERE THEIR FOOD AND FIBER ORIGINATES, AND THE ONGOING IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE IN TODAY'S SOCIETY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO WORKS TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN ALL LOCAL EDUCATION COMMUNITIES AND AGRICULTURE IN YUBA AND SUTTER COUNTIES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SCHOLARSHIPS: EACH YEAR IN APRIL, THE YUBA-SUTTER FARM BUREAU ACCEPTS APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS FROM GRADUATING SENIORS ATTENDING LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS. THIRTEEN INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED AND RANGED FROM $1,000 - $3,500. SEVERAL INTERVIEW SESSIONS BY THE AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE AND ONE BOARD MEETING ARE DEDICATED TO THE SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS.


TRAINING: THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE YUBA-SUTTER FARM BUREAU OFFERS VARIOUS TRAININGS ON ALL TYPES OF AGRICULTURALLY-RELATED TOPICS FOR AGRICULTURE EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYERS. EXAMPLES OF TRAINING INCLUDE HAZMAT, CPR, PESTICIDE APPLICATION, SUSTAINABILITY, ENERGY USE, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR AG BUSINESSES, WORKERS' COMPENSATION SEMINARS, AND MANY OTHER TOPICS.
