MEALS PROGRAM. THE COUNCIL PROVIDED 41,873 CONGREGATE MEALS AND 105,884 HOME DELIVERED MEALS. THE CONGREGATE MEALS WERE PROVIDED AT 20 MEAL SITES IN THE SIX COUNTY AREA. THE MEALS SERVED MEET OR EXCEED THE STANDARDS ESTABLISHED BY THE US GOVERNMENT.
OUTREACH PROGRAM. THE COUNCIL PROVIDED 7,701 UNITS OF OUTREACH SERVICES TO THE SENIOR CITIZENS IN THE SIX COUNTY AREA. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE ASSESSING THE SENIORS NEEDS, PROVIDING INFORMATION ON VARIOUS PROGRAMS AVAILABLE AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS SENIORS HAVE.
TRANSIT. THE COUNCIL OPERATES 30 VANS AND BUSSES IN THE SIX COUNTY AREA. INDIVIDUALS CONTACT THE COUNCIL TO RECIEVE A RIDE TO A SPECIFIC LOCATION OR PARTICIPATE IN A ROUTE RIDE FOR MEDICAL OR OTHER PURPOSES. DURING THE YEAR THE COUNCIL PROVIDED 102,368 RIDES.
