THE OPPORTUNITY NETWORK (OPPNET) CONNECTS STUDENTS FROM HISTORICALLY AND SYSTEMATICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES TO COLLEGE ACCESS AND SUCCESS, INTERNSHIPS, CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, AND PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS.DURING OUR 202021 FISCAL YEAR, WE SERVED ~1,010 STUDENTS IN OUR FOUNDING FELLOWS PROGRAM, AN INTENSIVE SIX- TO EIGHT-YEAR EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS BEGINNING THE SUMMER AFTER 10TH GRADE THAT CULTIVATES STUDENTS PASSIONS AND SKILLS TO APPLY FOR AND PERSIST THROUGH COLLEGE AND THEN LAUNCH THE CAREERS OF THEIR CHOICE UPON GRADUATION. OPPNET MAINTAINS ITS GROWTH AND IMPACT, AND OUR STUDENTS OUTCOMES REMAIN FAR ABOVE NATIONAL TRENDS: 92% OF OPPNET FELLOWS GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE WITHIN SIX YEARS AND 82% SECURE MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT OR GRADUATE SCHOOL ADMISSION WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF COLLEGE GRADUATION. ADDITIONALLY, OPPNET CONTINUES TO DRIVE IMPACT THROUGH OUR NATIONAL CAREER FLUENCY PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM, WHICH BUILDS CAPACITY FOR SCHOOLS AND YOUTH-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY LOOKING TO BOOST COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS IN THEIR YOUNG PEOPLE. THIS PAST YEAR, OPPNET REACHED ~7,900 STUDENTS THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH 44 SCHOOLS AND YOUTH-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS 21 CITIES.IN RESPONSE TO THE PANDEMIC AND TO MEET THE GROWING NEED FOR STRONG VIRTUAL COLLEGE AND CAREER PROGRAMMING, OPPNET HAS LAUNCHED A FREE, OPEN-ACCESS ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM, UNINTERRUPTED, WHICH OFFERS STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS FLEXIBLE COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS COURSES ANCHORED IN OUR PROPRIETARY CAREER FLUENCY CURRICULUM.
