THE MISSION OF SF&C CAPTURES THE ORGANIZATION'S MAIN GOAL OF SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY BY FOSTERING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH FOOD AND FARMING EDUCATION. OUR APPROACH HAS THREE KEY FOCUSES: COMMUNITY, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND EDUCATION

ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD SERVED OVER 386 HOUSEHOLDS AND OVER 1096 INDIVIDUALS WITH THE SNAP MATCH PROGRAM IT OPERATES. THESE HOUSEHOLDS WERE ALL SNAP/WIC ELIGIBLE, MAKING THEM ALL BELOW 180% OF POVERTY. OVER 80% OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS WERE CHILDREN UNDER AGE 19, WITH THE MAJORITY BEING BELOW 5 YEARS OF AGE. AHF DISTRIBUTED $49,358 IN TOTAL SUPPORT FUNDS TO THESE HOUSEHOLDS SERVING BOONE COUNTY MISSOURI RESIDENTS AND A FEW HOUSEHOLDS FROM ADJOINING COUNTIES. THESE FUNDS WERE SPENT AT THE COLUMBIA FARMERS MARKET AND HELPED SUPPORT THE REVENUES GENERATED BY LOCAL PRODUCERS. AHF HAS GROWN ANNUALLY IN NUMBERS OF HOUSEHOLDS SERVED SINCE INCEPTION IN 2011.
