THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH THE KANSAS CITY ALUMNAE CHAPTERS OF DELTA SIGMA THETA TO SUPPORT THE COTILLION YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WHICH AWARDS SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO SELECTED HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS EACH YEAR FOR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION EXPENSES. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED A VARIETY OF WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES TO HELP PREPARE THE RECIPIENTS FOR COLLEGE AND BEYOND. COTILLION ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE OVER SIX MONTHS AND PROVIDE WORKSHIPS IN THE AREAS OF TIME MANAGEMENT, INTERVIEWING, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND MAKING HEALTHY CHOICES. ACTIVITIES ALSO INCLUDED A TOUR OF HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
THE DELTA ATHENAEUM, ALSO KNOWN AS THE "DELTA HOUSE" IS A HISTORIC BUILDING (CONSTRUCTED IN 1914) WITH EVENT SPACE AND OFFICE FACILITIES FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN MID-TOWN KANSAS CITY. IT IS AVAILABLE TO INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS FOR COMMUNITY FORUMS, MEETINGS, RECITALS, WORKSHIPS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM NEEDS.
