COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY PROJECT - THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING TO HELP UNDERWRITE THE DEVELOPMENT OF WORKBOOKS AND PROJECT MATERIALS FOR A ONE-ON-ONE WRITING PROGRAM CALLED "TALK STORY, WRITE STORY". TALK STORY, WRITE STORY IS A COST-FREE PROGRAM THAT HELPS FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE MENTORING PROJECT HELPS THESE ACADEMICALLY AMBITIOUS STUDENTS SHOWCASE THEIR HERITAGE, PERSONALITIES, SKILLS AND GOALS THROUGH PERSONAL ESSAYS. VOLUNTEER MENTORS GUIDE THEM AS AS THEY WRITE THEIR WAY INTO COLLEGE, SCHOLARSHIPS, FIRST-TIME EMPLOYMENT, JOB ADVANCEMENT AND NEW CAREERS. TALK STORY, WRITE STORY'S LEGACY IS A WRITING TEMPLATE THAT STRENGTHENS STUDENTS' LIFELONG ABILITY TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES THROUGH SELF-EXAMINATION, CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND ENHANCED SELF-CONFIDENCE.
