BUILDING UPON THE COLLECTIVE STRENGTH OF THE VASCULITIS COMMUNITY, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS, INSPIRES AND EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS WITH VASCULITIS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH A WIDE RANGE OF EDUCATION, RESEARCH, CLINICAL, AND AWARENESS INITIATIVES. OUR VISION IS TO BE THE LEADING ORGANIZATION IN THE WORLD DEDICATED TO DIGANOSING, TREATING, AND CURING ALL FORMS OF VASCULITIS.

THE VASCULITIS FOUNDATION (VF) PROVIDES SUPPORT THROUGH ITS DETAILED WEBSITE WHICH AVERAGES 33,000 VISITS PER MONTH, MONTHLY VF E-NEWSLETTER, PRINTED EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, PODCASTS,IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PATIENT AND FAMILY CONFERENCES, SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS, AND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIA. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES 3,500 EMAIL REQUESTS PER YEAR FOR ASSISTANCE WITH 50 PHONE REQUESTS PER MONTH. THE VF WORKS CLOSELY WITH VASCULITIS MEDICAL EXPERTS AND RESEARCHERS AROUND THE WORLD TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS, THE NEED FOR MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS, AND THE CRITICAL NEED FOR RESEARCH. VASCULITIS AWARENESS MONTH, HELD DURING THE MONTH OF MAY, IS AN INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE TO RAISE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF VASCULITIS IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND MEDICAL COMMUNITY. VF HAS 2,200 MEMBERS WORLD-WIDE.
THE VASCULITIS FOUNDATION (VF) COLLABORATES WITH RESEARCHERS WORLDWIDE TO FUND RESEARCH INTO DETERMINING THE CAUSE, DEVELOPING MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS, AND DISCOVERING A CURE FOR VASCULITIS. RESEARCH RANGES FROM BASIC SCIENCE TO IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE STUDIES. THE VASCULITIS FOUNDATION RESEARCH PROGRAM PROVIDES ONE-YEAR OR TWO-YEAR GRANTS TO SUPPORT PILOT STUDIES IN RESEARCHING ETIOLOGY/PATHOGENESIS, EPIDEMIOLOGY, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT/MANAGEMENT OF VASCULITIS. THE VF FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM IS A MENTORED TRAINING PROGRAM OF UP TO TWO YEARS FOR PHYSICIAN- INVESTIGATORS WHO HAVE A STRONG INTEREST IN VASCULITIS AND WISH TO PURSUE A PERIOD OF SPECIALIZED TRAINING WITH AN EMPHASIS ON CLINICAL AND/OR TRANSLATIONAL PATIENT-ORIENTED RESEARCH. THE VF PROVIDES ONE-YEAR OR TWO- YEAR FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE FELLOWSHIPS. DURING 2021-22, THE VF PROVIDED GRANTS TO SIX FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC INSTITUTIONS INCLUDING ONE FELLOWSHIP GRANT AND FIVE RESEARCH GRANTS.
