COXHEALTH AUXILIARY SERVES IN MORE THAN 100 AREAS OF COXHEALTH HOSPITALS, CLINICS, AND COMMUNITY EVENTS PROVIDING FINANCIAL AND SERVICE DONATIONS TO THE SYSTEM

Part 3 - Line 4a
GIFT SHOPS WHICH CONSIST OF 4 LOCATIONS. THE AUXILIARY HELD FUNDRAISERS FOR GENERAL GRANTS AND IT HAS TARGETED FUNDRAISERS FOR THE ANNUAL STATE PROJECT; IN FISCAL YEAR 2018 IT WAS STROKE. THE AUXILIARY HOSTED A CAR SHOW IN JUNE 2018. THE PROCEEDS FROM THESE AVENUES, AS WELL AS DONATIONS, ARE GIVEN BACK TO THE COXHEALTH SYSTEM IN THE FORM OF PROGRAMS, EQUIPMENT, AND SCHOLARSHIPS, OR ARE GIVEN TO OTHER TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
THE AUXILIARY PROVIDES FINANCIAL AID TO NURSING STUDENTS AT COX COLLEGE TO COVER THE COST OF THEIR TUITION. THESE STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK FOR COX FOR THREE YEARS FOLLOWING GRADUATION, OR REPAY THE FUNDS. THE AUXILIARY ALSO FUNDS A GRANT THAT THE MEDICAL EXPLORER PROGRAM GIVES OUT IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO ONE OR MORE STUDENTS GOING INTO THE MEDICAL PROFESSION. ALL STUDENTS ARE CHOSEN THROUGH AN APPLICATION PROCESS.
THE AUXILIARY PROVIDES AN INFANT SLEEP SACK, DESIGNED FOR THE PREVENTION OF SIDS, TO ALL NEWBORNS BORN AT COXHEALTH. IN ADDITION,EACH FAMILY THAT HAS A NEED FOR AN INFANT CAR SEAT RECEIVES ONE. THE CAR SEATS WERE THE FIRST PROGRAM FOR THE AUXILIARY AND CONTINUE TO BE ONE OF THEIR MOST IMPORTANT, ONGOING PROGRAMS. THE CAR SEATS ARE A SPECIAL PURCHASE THAT SAFELY FITS A SMALLER INFANT (TO ACCOMMODATE PREEMIES). FOR FY '18 WHICH ENDED SEPT. 2018 THERE WERE 218 CAR SEATS GIVEN OUT AND 3,419 SLEEP SACKS.
