BRINGING PEOPLE AND PETS TOGETHER, ADVANCING HUMANE EDUCATION AND CREATING PROGRAMS BENEFICIAL TO THE HUMAN/ANIMAL BOND.

ADOPTION - THE ASSOCIATION TAKES IN COMPANION ANIMALS THAT HAVE STRAYED, BEEN ABANDONED, OR WHOSE OWNERS CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THEM AND MAKES EVERY EFFORT TO PROVIDE A SECOND CHANCE FOR ALL ADOPTABLE ANIMALS TO FIND LOVING AND PERMANENT HOMES. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO HELPS OVERCROWDED SHELTERS AND RESCUE GROUPS FIND HOMES FOR THEIR ANIMALS BY TRANSFERRING THEM INTO THE ASSOCIATION'S ADOPTION CENTER. 4,737 ANIMALS WERE ADOPTED THIS YEAR, AND ANOTHER 183 LOST ANIMALS WERE REUNITED WITH THEIR FAMILIES.
EDUCATION - THE ASSOCIATION ACTIVELY WORKS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON ANIMAL WELFARE ISSUES AND THE BENEFITS OF THE HUMAN/ANIMAL BOND WITH PROGRAMS REACHING SCHOOLS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND CHILDREN. APPROXIMATELY, 1,040 INDIVIDUALS AND CHILDREN WERE REACHED BY THESE PROGRAMS. PARTNERING WITH 8 FACILITIES, 175 HOURS WERE COMPLETED THROUGH OUR PETREACH PROGRAM WHICH CONNECTS PETS WITH SENIORS IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDES OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY. THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PET ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SAFECARE) ASSISTS VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE BY FOSTERING THEIR PETS WHILE THEY REGAIN THEIR INDEPENDENCE OUTSIDE OF A VIOLENT HOME. SAFECARE ASSISTED 41 ANIMALS AND OF THOSE, 36 WERE RETURNED TO THEIR OWNERS. CRISIS HOUSING ASSISTED 16 ANIMALS AND OF THOSE, 15 WERE RETURNED TO THEIR OWNERS.
VETERINARY CLINIC - THE ASSOCIATION'S CLINIC PROVIDES ROUTINE WELL CARE FOR CLIENTS' CATS AND DOGS, AS WELL AS PROVIDES VETERINARY CARE FOR THE ANIMALS IN THE ADOPTION CENTER. 4,392 ANIMALS WERE SERVED THIS YEAR.
