COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER CLUSTER OUR PRIMARY CARE CLINICS PROVIDE MEDICAL, DENTAL, AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO UNINSURED AND UNDER SERVED PATIENTS IN CENTRAL IOWA, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. PATIENT VISITS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR TOTALED 160,621.
THE TEACHING HEALTH CENTER GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE EXPANSION OF PRIMARY CARE MEDICAL RESIDENCY TRAINING IN COMMUNITY-BASED AMBULATORY SETTINGS WHEREBY THESE GRADUATES ARE LIKELY TO SERVE UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES.
PRIMARY HEALTH CARE'S HIV PROGRAM EXPANDED IN JANUARY 2013. IT PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE PRIMARY MEDICAL, DENTAL, MENTAL HEALTH, AND NURSE CARE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO PATIENTS WITH HIV DISEASE. THESE PROGRAMS SERVED HUNDREDS OF PATIENTS WITH HIV DURING THE YEAR, AND THOUSANDS AT RISK FOR CONTRACTING THE DISEASE.
