TO OPERATE FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES BY RAISING FUNDS FOR AND DISTRIBUTING THE INCOME FROM THOSE FUNDS FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS AND IMPROVEMENTS OF THE MIDWEST OLD SETTLERS AND THRESHERS ASSOCIATION, INC.

THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS EVENTS LIKE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS TO ATTRACT PEOPLE TO THE MIDWEST OLD SETTLERS & THRESHERS GROUNDS. THEY ALSO HOST AND SPONSOR FIELD TRIP TOURS FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN. THE STUDENTS ARE GIVEN A GIFT BAG AND INFORMATION FOR THE UPCOMING REUNION TO ENCOURAGE THE CHILDREN TO RETURN WITH THEIR FAMILIES DURING THE ANNUAL REUNION.
THE FOUNDATION HAS SPEARHEADED FUNDRAISING EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF MIDWEST OLD THRESHERS TO FINANCE MOSTA'S LAST THREE BUILDING PROJECTS: (1) THE MEDICAL PAVILION;(2) THE CAMPGROUND OPERATIONS/FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS HEADQUARTERS; AND (3)THE NEW SANTA HOUSE AND SANTA WORKSHOP FOR THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS.
DURING THE PAST FOUR ANNUAL REUNIONS, THE FOUNDATION HAS RECOGNIZED A TOP FINANCIAL SUPPORTER OF MIDWEST OLD THRESHERS BY AWARDING THE "GOLDEN WHEAT AWARD" TO THAT RECIPIENT. FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBERS VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST MIDWEST OLD THRESHERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AT VARIOUS EVENTS SPONSORED BY MOSTA SUCH AS SCHOOL TOURS, STEAM ENGINE SCHOOL, TROLLEY SCHOOL, 4TH OF JULY ACTIVITIES, ANNUAL REUNION, HAUNTED RAILS AND HAUNTED HOUSE, AND FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS.
FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS THE FOUNDATION HAS SUPPORTED A TOURISM BOOTH AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR IN CONJUNCTION WITH MIDWEST OLD THRESHERS, THE CITY OF MT. PLEASANT, THE CHAMBER AND IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY TO PROMOTE WHAT MT. PLEASANT HAS TO OFFER.
