THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF DULUTH IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. ITS PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE.

PROMOTION OF VOLUNTEERISM IN THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND EDUCATIONAL CONDITIONS IN THE DULUTH AREA. THE ORGANIZATION'S FOCUS ON FOOD INSECURITY AND FOOD ACCESS CONTINUES WITH OUR VOLUNTEER TIME AND PROJECTS. THE ORGANIZATION COORDINATED SEVERAL VOLUNTEER PROJECTS INCLUDING DONATION DRIVES. THE FALL DONATION DRIVE COLLECTED OVER 160 HOUSEHOLD LINEN AND BEDDING ITEMS TO BE DONATED TO BETHANY CRISIS SHELTER AND HARBOR HOUSE CRISIS SHELTER. THE WINTER DONATION DRIVE COLLECTED OVER 126 WINTER GEAR ITEMS THAT WERE DONATED TO THE DAMIANO CENTER. THE SPRING DONATION DRIVE COLLECTED OVER 57 NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS ALONG WITH MONETARY DONATIONS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION DULUTH'S MOBILE FOOD MARKET.
AWARDED COMMUNITY GRANTS TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS IN A TOTAL OF $15,647 TO 8 DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. THE GRANTS WERE GIVEN TO ORGANIZATIONS BASED ON THEIR CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP TO ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY, ALONG WITH ADDRESSING OTHER AREAS SUCH AS TRAINING, LEADERSHIP, AND EMPOWERMENT.
