ACTIVITIES ARE CARRIED ON FOR THE BENEFIT OF MERCY HOSPITAL AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. THE FOUNDATION ENCOURAGES PHILANTHROPY FROM AREA INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES THROUGH SPECIFIC, DIRECT SOLICITATIONS AND, GENERAL ON-GOING FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. THE MERCY HOSPSITAL FOUNDATION MIDSUMMER GOLF TOURNAMENT IS SCHEDULED EACH JUNE. THIS IS AN 18- HOLE SCRAMBLE-STYE GOLF TOURNAMENT HELD ON THE FRIDAY ON OR FOLLOWING MIDSUMMER'S DAY, JUNE 21 OF EACH YEAR. IN OCTOBER OF EACH YEAR, THE FOUNDATION HOSTS THE MERCY FOUNDATION AUTUMN GALA, A SEMI-FORMAL DINNER, DANCE, AND SILENT AUCTION.
