LEGISLATIVE, LEGAL, EDUCATIONAL, MEDIA, AND OTHER SERVICES FOCUSED ON COMMON ISSUES THAT AFFECT GREATER MINNESOTA CITIES INCLUDING LOCAL GOVERNMENT AID AND PROPERTY TAXES. WE SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATED TO ENSURE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AID WAS PAID ON TIME AND IN FULL.
LEGISLATIVE, LEGAL, EDUCATIONAL, MEDIA, AND OTHER SERVICES REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSPORTATION. THIS LEGISLATIVE SESSION WE ADVOCATED SUCCESSFULLY FOR FUNDING TO THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE (BDPI) PROGRAM AND FOR SMALL CITIES STREETS FUNDING. WE ALSO SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATED FOR A CHILDCARE PROGRAM FUNDING MINNESOTA'S INITIATIVE FOUNDATIONS AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THE DEED CHILDCARE GRANT PROGRAM.
LEGISLATIVE, LEGAL, EDUCATIONAL, MEDIA, AND OTHER SERVICES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES FOCUSED ON FUNDING AND REGULATION. THIS SESSION WE SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATED FOR CREATION AND FUNDING OF THE PFAS SOURCE REDUCTION INITIATIVE AND FOR INCLUSION OF FUNDING FOR CHLORIDE REDUCTION AND PSIG PROGRAM IN THE LEGACY BILL. WE ALSO WORKED WITH OTHER CITY GROUPS TO PREVENT PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION THAT WOULD HAVE CREATED SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL LIABILITIES FOR OUR CITIES.
LEGISLATIVE, LEGAL, EDUCATIONAL, MEDIA, AND OTHER SERVICES FOCUSED ON IMPROVING THE ANNEXATION PROCESS AND PROMOTING BETTER LAND USE THROUGHOUT GREATER MINNESOTA. THE CGMC HELPED DEFEAT HARMFUL ANNEXATION LEGISLATION BROUGHT BY THE TOWNSHIPS.THE CGMC PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES TO ITS MEMBERS ON LABOR ISSUES THAT CITIES FACE, INCLUDING A SERIES OF WEBINARS, PRESENTATIONS AT CONFERENCES, REGULAR NEWSLETTER AND A DATABASE OF INFORMATION ON ARBITRATIONS.
