THE INTERNATIONAL WOLF CENTER PROMOTES AND EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF WOLVES, AND ADVANCES THE SURVIVAL OF WOLF POPULATIONS BY TEACHING ABOUT WOLVES, THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO WILD LANDS, AND THE HUMAN ROLE IN THEIR FUTURE.

WOLF CARE PROGRAMMING:WE ADMINISTERED 8 WOLF CARE PROGRAMS IN 2021 - WHAT'S FOR DINNER, PUP EXPERIENCE, WORKING FOR WOLVES, WOLVES AFTER DARK, WC WEBINARS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS, BEHIND THE SCENES, PUP OBSERVATION TEAM AND WOLF PHOTOGRAPHY. THE 1,374 PARTICIPANTS VIEWED THE WEEKLY FEEDING OF OUR WOLVES AND LEARNED ABOUT FOOD DEFENSE, TUG OF WAR, CACHING, SCENT MARKING, BEHAVIOR OF WOLVES AFTER DARK, EXPERT HANDS-ON INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH WILDLIFE AND HOW TO MANAGE A SAFE, CLEAN ENRICHING FACILITY FOR WOLVES. THE PUP OBSERVATION TEAM WAS VALUABLE IN ASSISTING THE INTERNATIONAL WOLF CENTER IN ASSESSING PUP BEHAVIOR AND THE INTRODUCTION OF THE PUP INTO THE MAIN ENCLOSURE. THE CENTER OFFERED YEARLY SUBSCRIPTIONS TO THE WEBINARS OR SINGLE VIEWING OPPORTUNITIES FOR EACH WEBINAR - ALL DONE BY OUR EXPERT WOLF STAFF.
LECTURES AND WEBINARS:INTERNATIONAL WOLF CENTER HELD 11 BIOLOGIST WEBINARS TAUGHT BY EXPERTS IN THE FIELD FROM AROUND THE WORLD WITH A TOTAL OF 2,364 PARTICIPANTS IN 2021. EDUCATION PROGRAMS:AT THE INTERPRETIVE CENTER IN ELY, MINNESOTA, WE OFFERED 7 DIFFERENT LEARNING ADVENTURE PROGRAMS IN 2021 WITH 83 PARTICIPANTS. PROGRAMS INCLUDED WOLF RESEARCH DAY ADVENTURE, WILDLIFE IN WINTER DAY ADVENTURE, JR WOLF BIOLOGIST CAMPS, WOLF FAMILY RENDEZVOUS, WILDLIFE CAREER DAY, VOYAGEUR WOLF PROJECT FIELD TRIP, AND WOLVES AND WOMEN'S WEEKEND. PROGRAM CONTENT COVERED METHODS AND DISCOVERIES OF WOLF RESEARCH IN MN, LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT ANIMALS' WINTER SURVIVAL STRATEGIES, HANDS-ON OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, GUIDED HIKES IN THE SUPERIOR NATIONAL FOREST, MEETING BIOLOGISTS AND LEARNING ABOUT THEIR WORK, WOLF ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, BEHIND THE SCENE TOURS, MEETING TOM GABLE - VOYAGEUR WOLF PROJECT LEAD TO LEARN ABOUT BASIC EQUIPMENT USED TO STUDY WOLVES AND TRAVELLING TO WOLF KILL SITES AND HOME SITES, AS WELL AS ENJOYING CANOEING AND TELEMETRY.
