Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
OVER THE COURSE OF THE 2020-2021 YEAR, MINN-IOWA CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING, INC., REFERRED TO HEREIN AS KINSHIP RADIO, SAW SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE FACES-AND VOICES-OF THE MINISTRY. KINSHIP RADIO ADDED A NEW MORNING SHOW HOST TO ITS ON-AIR ROSTER. IN ADDITION, LONGTIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MATT DORFNER RETIRED, AND JENNIFER EPPERSON WAS HIRED AS THE NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. THOUGH NEW PERSONNEL INVARIABLY BRING NEW SOUND AND DIRECTION TO ANY RADIO ORGANIZATION, THE PURPOSE OF KINSHIP RADIO HAS REMAINED THE SAME: "TO REPRESENT AND PRESENT THE DYNAMIC GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST." AS A RADIO MINISTRY, WE DO THIS THROUGH BROADCASTING. LISTENER SURVEY RESULTS, EMAILS, PHONE CALLS, AND LETTERS CONTINUE TO AFFIRM THE ORGANIZATION IS REALIZING ITS MISSION. IN ADDITION TO STAFFING CHANGES, OTHER AREAS OF GROWTH AND IMPACT INCLUDED A SUCCESSFUL WOMEN'S EVENT IN MANKATO WITH 400 ATTENDEES. THIS WAS AN INCREASE FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR WHEN STRICTER COVID-19 GUIDELINES WERE IN EFFECT, THROUGH SOME RESTRICTIONS WERE STILL IN PLACE AT THE TIME OF THE CONFERENCE. COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS IN VARIOUS KINSHIP RADIO BROADCAST AREAS WERE MADE THROUGH LEADING AND DIRECTING AREA "AMBASSADOR" VOLUNTEER GROUPS BY THE NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. FINALLY, KINSHIP RADIO CONTINUED TO EXTEND EFFORTS TO PURSUE ADDITIONAL STATIONS, BUT NO TRANSACTIONS HAVE YET BEEN COMPLETED. A CENTRAL FOCUS IN THE MINISTRY'S GROWTH WAS THE ACQUISITION AND ONGOING REHABILITATION OF A VACANT CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE IN MANKATO, MN. A MOVE FROM ITS OFFICES AND STUDIOS FROM BLUE EARTH, MN (FROM WHICH THE MINISTRY HAS OPERATED SINCE ITS INCEPTION), WILL OFFER HIGHER VISIBILITY AND EASIER ACCESS TO PARTNERING CHURCHES AND OTHER PARACHURCH MINISTRIES THAT WOULD ALSO PROVIDE ATTRACTIVE CONTENT FOR LISTENERS. NEW EQUIPMENT IS BEING FITTED INTO THE STUDIOS, BRINGING THE RADIO TECHNOLOGY UP TO DATE WHILE OFFERING EFFICIENCIES TO THE ON-AIR STAFF. LATE FALL 2021 IS THE ESTIMATED DATE FOR MOVE-IN. AT THE END OF ITS MOST RECENT FISCAL YEAR, KINSHIP RADIO CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE ENOUGH MARGIN IN ITS RESOURCES TO GROW ITS OUTREACH TO THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN IOWA. THIS IS ESPECIALLY EXCITING AS THE ORGANIZATION WILL UNDOUBTEDLY BE PRESENTED WITH REALIZED GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES AS A RESULT OF ITS RELOCATION TO THE CITY OF MANKATO.
