JUNIOR LEAGUE OF MINNEAPOLIS INC. (THE LEAGUE) IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN AND IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. ITS PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING - THE LEAGUE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE MEMBERS TO STRENGTHEN THE LEAGUE AND TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY THROUGH TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. THROUGH ACTIVE PARTICIPATION, MEMBERS GAIN VALUABLE SKILLS RANGING FROM FUNDRAISING, MARKETING, BUDGETING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING TO DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.
OTHER COMMUNITY PROGRAMS INCLUDE MULTIPLE PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON LITERACY. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE: - 30 MILLION WORDS WHICH AIMS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF WORDS HEARD BY LOW-INCOME CHILDREN; - HOMES (HANDS-ON MATH, ENGINEERING, AND SCIENCE) THAT BRINGS STEM LEARNING TO LIFE FOR KIDS AND PARENTS THROUGH HANDS-ON PROJECTS AND EXAMPLES; - BETWEEN THE LINES, WHICH STRENGTHENS THE BOND BETWEEN CHILD AND PARENT/CARETAKER DURING A LENGTHY SEPARATION BE THAT INCARCERATION OR MILITARY DEPLOYMENT.- HELPING HANDS WHICH IS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY AGENCIES AND LEAGUE.
LEAGUEAIRES - REPRESENTS TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WHO BRING THE JOY OF MUSIC TO THE ELDERLY, MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN AND ADULTS, AND TO DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN. THIS GROUP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS ALSO CONTINUES TO TRAIN OTHER VOLUNTEERS IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THERAPEUTIC MUSIC.
