INDIA ADOPT A CHILDWE CURRENTLY HAVE OVER 150 CHILDREN IN OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, SPONSORS CONTRIBUTE $50 PER MONTH TO ASSIST AN INDIAN PASTOR TO TAKE THE CHILD INTO THEIR HOME AS PART OF THEIR FAMILY. OVERSEEN BY A BOARD OF INDIAN MEN, ROUTINE VISITS ARE CONDUCTED TO INSURE THAT THE CHILDREN ARE DOING WELL. THEY ARE ALL IN SCHOOL (VIRTUALLY OR IN-PERSON AS COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS ALLOW) AND MOST OF THEM ARE THRIVING.JEHOVAH RAPHA HOUSEJRH IS A HOME FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS IN HAITI. IT IS CURRENTLY AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY CARING FOR 41 CHILDREN. IN HAITIAN CULTURE, DISABLED CHILDREN ARE GENERALLY VIEWED AS A CURSE, AND THEY ARE FREQUENTLY ABANDONED AND LEFT TO DIE. IT IS OUR HOPE TO BE ABLE TO BUILD A LARGER FACILITY IN THE NEAR FUTURE SO THAT WE MAY HELP A GREATER NUMBER OF CHILDREN AND CHALLENGED ADULTS. IN AUGUST, 2021 WE CELEBRATED THE FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ADOPTING JRH INTO OUR MINISTRY FAMILY. MISSION TEAMS TRAVELING TO HAITI AND STAYING AT OUR HOUSE OF HOPE FREQUENTLY WORK WITH JEHOVAH RAPHA HOUSE, HELPING TO MAINTAIN THE BUILDING AND GROUNDS. DUE TO POLITICAL UNREST IN HAITI AND COVID-19 HEALTH CONCERNS & TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS, MISSION TEAM INVOLVEMENT AT JEHOVAH RAPHA HOUSE HAS BEEN PUT ON AN INDEFINITE HOLD.INDIAN ORPHANAGESWE FULLY SUPPORT TWO DIFFERENT ORPHANAGES IN INDIA. ONE IS IN TERALA AND THE OTHER IS IN VIJIYAWADA. OUR SUPPORTERS ONCE AGAIN GAVE GENEROUSLY TO PROVIDE THE FUNDS NEEDED TO FEED, CLOTHE, CARE FOR, AND CONTINUE EDUCATING THE CHILDREN LIVING THERE, EVEN AS COSTS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY THROUGHOUT INDIA DURING COVID-19 RELATED LOCK-DOWNS. GRATEFULLY, THE STAFF AND CHILDREN HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN PREVENTING ANY COVID-19 OUTBREAKS IN EITHER LOCATION.
