FRIENDS OF APPLETON PUBLIC LIBRARY (FRIENDS) ADVOCATES AND RAISES FUNDS FOR THE APPLETON PUBLIC LIBRARY (APL) AND SERVES AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN THE LIBRARY AND THE GREATER APPLETON COMMUNITY. PUBLIC FUNDING ISNT ENOUGH TO PROVIDE ALL THE SERVICES AND RESOURCES THAT OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS. WITH FRIENDS FUNDS, APL PROVIDES ENHANCED LIBRARY SERVICES BEYOND THOSE PAID FOR WITH TAX DOLLARS FOR ALL AGES, DEMOGRAPHICS, RESIDENTS AND VISITORS OF THE FOX CITIES COMMUNITIES.

TO ENCOURAGE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF LIBRARY PROGRAMS, TECHNOLOGIES,SERVICES, AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THOSE WHICH ARE PROVIDED BY TAX DOLLARS; TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH FOR THE PUBLIC ON THE VALUE OF LIBRARIES IN GENERAL AND THE APPLETON PUBLIC LIBRARY SPECIFICALLY TO OUR COMMUNITY; TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT 21ST CENTURY PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN GENERAL AND SPECIFICALLY TO SUPPORT FOR THE FUTURE APPLETON LIBRARY; TO SERVE AS FISCAL AGENT FOR APPLETON PUBLIC LIBRARY GRANTS FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES.
