THE PURPOSE SHALL BE TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AID AND ASSISTANCE TO WORTHY AND NEEDY STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-EAU CLAIRE, TO ENCOURAGE SCHOLARSHIP, TO PARTICIPATE IN AND ENCOURAGE ALL ENDEAVORS TO ADVANCE THE CAUSE OF EDUCATION AT THIS UNIVERSITY, TO ASSIST IN DEVELOPING AND INCREASING THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS AT THIS UNIVERSITY PRIMARILY IN THE AREAS OTHER THAN THOSE IN WHICH THE STATE OF WISCONSIN ORDINARILY MAKES APPROPRIATIONS AND TO DO ALL ACTS THAT THE CORPORATION SHALL DEEM TO BE IN THE INTEREST OF SAID UNIVERSITY. THE FUNDS OF THE CORPORATION SHALL BE INVESTED IN THE INVESTMENTS THAT SHALL MEET THE STANDARDS THAT THE CORPORATION, IN ITS DISCRETION, SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE, AND SHALL NOT BE RESTRICTED TO INVESTMENTS QUALIFYING AS TRUST FUND INVESTMENTS UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WISCONSIN.

THIS INCLUDES FUNDING FOR DEPARTMENT ADVANCEMENT FUNDS THAT ARE USED TO SUPPORT PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES NOT SUPPORTED BY STATE FUNDING. THE GENERAL NUMBER IMPACTED BY THAT TYPE OF PROGRAM IS 40 ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS ON CAMPUS AND 900 ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT STAFF.
