THE ASSOCIATION MAINTAINS POSITIVE RELATIONS WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENTITIES IN THE SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AREA IN ORDER TO AFFECT DECISIONS THAT MAY IMPACT LOCAL REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT, BUILDING, AND THE RESALE OF REAL ESTATE. AS PART OF ITS PUBLIC POLICY ACTIVITIES, THE ASSOCIATION EMPLOYS A LOCAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR AND ALSO MAINTAINS A SEPARATE SEGREGATED FUND TO WHICH ITS MEMBERS MAY CONTRIBUTE.
THE ASSOCIATION HAD APPROXIMATELY 4,800 MEMBERS DURING 2021. IN ORDER TO COMMUNICATE WITH ITS MEMBERS, THE ASSOCIATION PUBLISHES A MONTHLY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER AND COMMUNICATES WITH MEMBERS SEVERAL TIMES EACH WEEK VIA E-MAIL AND SOCIAL MEDIA ON A VARIETY OF SUBJECTS RELATING TO THE PRACTICE OF REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO HOSTS PERIODIC SEMINARS ON REAL ESTATE RELATED SUBJECTS, SUCH AS CONTRACTS, ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS. THE ASSOCIATION PROMOTES SEVERAL CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO MEMBERS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THEIR REAL ESTATE LICENSES.
