THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED IN RESPONSE TO THE TREMENDOUS IMPACT THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC COVID-19 HAS HAD ON THE RESTAURANT AND FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN INDUSTRIES, WITH THE GOAL OF PROVIDING FINANCIAL RELIEF TO INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL BUSINESSES WITHIN THOSE INDUSTRIES THAT HAVE BEEN NEGATIVELY IMPACTED AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC. SPECIFICALLY, THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED TO HELP STRUGGLING FARMS IN WEST MARIN, CA AND THE CURRENT AND FORMER EMPLOYEES OF SAN FRANCISCO-AREA RESTAURANTS, COTOGNA, VERJUS, AND QUINCE, WHO HAVE BEEN LAID-OFF, FURLOUGHED, OR OTHERWISE FINANCIALLY IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OR WHO MAY BE OTHERWISE IMPACTED BY A FUTURE PANDEMIC OR OTHER NATURAL DISASTER.

IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A GRANT, A POTENTIAL GRANT RECIPIENT WILL BE RQUIRED TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION AND SUBMIT INFORMATION REGARDING THE APPLICANT'S EMPLOYMENT AND FINANCIAL SITUATION, SUFFICIENT TO ALLOW THE ORGANIZATION TO OBJECTIVELY ASSESS THE APPLICANT'S NEED. EACH APPLICATION WILL BE REVIEWED AND EVALUATED BY AN INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY HUMAN RESOURCES FIRM: VINE SOLUTIONS. VINE SOLUTIONS WILL THEN SELECT GRANT RECIPIENTS AND AWARD GRANTS BASED ON NEED AND THE ORGANIZATION'S AVAILABLE FUNDS. GRANTS FROM THE ORGANIZATION ARE INTENDED TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY OR EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS OVERCOME FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS CAUSED BY LOSS OF INCOME DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. AS SUCH, ABSENT CLEARLY DOCUMENTED EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES, INDIVIDUALS ELIGILBLE TO RECEIVE UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A GRANT FROM THE ORGANIZATION. INDIVIDUAL GRANTS WILL NOT EXCEED $1,500 PER INDIVIDUAL OR $2,000 PER FAMILY. AFTER DISBURSING A GRANT, THE ORGANIZATION MAY PERIODICALLY CHECK IN WITH THE GRANT RECIPIENTS TO ASSESS THEIR ONGOING FINANCIAL NEED.
GRANTS TO FARMS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS: IN FURTHERANCE OF ITS CHARITABLE PURPOSES, THE ORGANIZATION INTENDS TO AWARD GRANTS TO STRUGGLING FARMS IN THE WEST MARIN-AREA OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN, MANY LOCAL FARMS HAVE BEEN FINANCIALLY DEVASTATED BY THE FALLOUT FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AND THE ORGANIZATION SEEKS TO PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO KEEP SUCH FARMS AFLOAT. LOCAL FARMS SEEKING AID FROM THE ORGANIZATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION. LOCAL FARMS THAT HAVE RECEIVED GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE, SUCH AS LOANS OR OTHER GRANTS UNDER THE CARES ACT, WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A GRANT FROM THE ORGANIZATION. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION MAY ALSO AWARD GRANTS TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT LOCAL FARMS AND FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN WORKERS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THOSE EXEMPT FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAX UNDER SECTION 501C3 OF THE CODE. TO THIS END, THE ORGANIZATION MAY PUBLISH INFORMATION AND ENGAGE IN SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS TO PROMOTE CONSUMER AWARENESS ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY, WAGE PARITY, BEST PRACTICES, AND OTHER TOPICS DIRECTLY RELATED TO FOOD PRODUCTION AND THE SUPPLY CHAIN AND RESTAURANT INDUSTRIES.
