THE WINDERMERE ROTARY CLUB IS PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL CLUB THAT WORKS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND EDUCATION OF PEOPLE WORLD WIDE. IT'S MOST IMPORTANT WORLD MISSION IS THE ERADICATION OF POLIO WORLDWIDE. OUR LOCAL CLUB CONDUCTS MONEY MAKING PROJECTS AND SOLICITS FUNDS FROM HOSPITALS. THESE FUNDS ARE USED TO HELP YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY WITH SCHOLARSHIPS, SUPPORTING THE POOR FAMILIES, ELDERS AND BUILDING LEADERSHIP SKILLS BY YOUNG PEOPLE. WE ALSO SUPPORT VETERANS WITH RECOGNITION, HELPING FIND HOMES AND JOBS. WE ALSO SUPPORT A CHILDREN'S HOME IN BRAZIL AND SURGICAL CENTER IN HAITI. FINALLY WE ARE BUILDING A PAVILION IN THE WINDERMERE CENTER TOWN FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHERS TO USE.

YOUTH SERVICES: PROVIDE ESSAY WRITING CONTEST IN GRADE SCHOOLS. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS. RYLA LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL CLUB LEADERS. SPONSOR RYLA CLUBS AT TWO AREA HIGH SCHOOLS GO PROMOTE LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.
THE ROTARY CLUB STARTED A PROJECT TO DESIGN AND BUILD A PAVILION FOR THE CENTER OF WINDERMERE. PLANS WERE CREATED, APPROVED BY THE CITY AND FUNDS OBTAINED FROM A LOCAL HOSPITAL (ORLANDO HEALTH). INITIAL FUNDING OF $200,000 WAS COLLECTED, A BUILDER SELECTED AND AWARDED THE JOB. FIRST GROUND BREAKING IS ANTICIPATED IN LATE 2022. ONCE THE PAVILION IS COMPLETED, THE KEYS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TOWN AND IT CAN BE USED BY THE CITY FOR VARIOUS ENTERTAINMENT VENUES AS WELL AS ROTARY PROJECTS. ONLY $16,150 WAS SPENT IN THIS TAX YEAR, BALANCE IS IN OUR BANK ACCOUNT FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIRED FUNDING AS CONSTRUCTION STARTS.
INTERNATIONAL FUNDING FOR PROJECTS SUPPORTING THE HEALTH OF THE YOUTH. ONE PROJECT WAS IMPROVING THE FACILITY WHERE YOUNG CHILDREN LIVE IN BRAZIL. FUNDS OF $3,000 WERE GIVEN TO ALLOW THEM TO BUY A WASHING MACHINE AND OTHER FURNITURE. ANOTHER PROJECT WAS SUPPORTING THE EDUCATION OF A SURGEON IN HAITI.
