THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROMOTE SPORTSMANSHIP IN AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH SOCCER PLAYERS THROUGH COMPETITION BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.

SEASONAL COMPETITION - THE SOCCER CLUB TEACHES ADVANCED SOCCER SKILLS IN A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT. IN ADDITION TO SKILLS LEARNED THROUGH COMPETITION, THE PLAYERS LEARN LIFE SKILLS SUCH AS TEAMWORK, PERSEVERENCE, AND SPORTSMANSHIP IN A MULTI-CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT. THE SOCCER CLUB INSTRUCTED THROUGH ITS PREMIER AND SELECT CLUBS APPROXIMATELY 433 PLAYERS, 22 COACHES, AND 21 VOLUNTEERS DURING THE YEAR.
JUNIOR SOCCER - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM TARGETING YOUTH AGES 4-7. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO TEACH CHILDREN AT THE ONSET OF THEIR SOCCER INTEREST THE PROPER BASIC TECHNIQUES INCLUDING PASSING, DRIBBLING, AND SHOOTING. THE SOCCER CLUB INSTRUCTED APPROXIMATELY 103 (18 FALL SEASON, 38 WINTER SEASON, 47 SPRING SEASON) PLAYERS, 8 COACHES, AND 2 VOLUNTEERS DURING THE YEAR.
TOURNAMENTS - THE ORGANIZATION REGISTERS THE TEAMS IN STATE-WIDE PROMOTED TOURNAMENTS DURING EACH SPRING AND FALL SEASON. THE STATE-WIDE TOURNAMENTS PROVIDE THE PLAYERS A HIGHER LEVEL OF COMPETITION AND EMPLOY THE INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM SKILLS LEARNED AND PRACTICED DURING THE SEASON. 425 PLAYERS AND COACHES PARTICIPATE AND INCLUDES AN ADDITIONAL 27 VOLUNTEERS.
SCHOLARSHIPS - A SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED TO ONE LOW INCOME FAMILY PER TEAM ON AN INDIVIDUAL NEED BASIS. IT IS A DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION FEE AND THE FAMILY PAYS ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE TOTAL FEE. SCHOLARSHIP PLAYERS RECEIVE THE SAME BENEFITS AS PLAYERS WHO PAY FULL REGISTRATION FEES. THE SOCCER CLUB GRANTED 31 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF 20,132 OF DISCOUNTED REGISTRATION FEES. GRAND RAPIDS INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT (GRIT) - THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERS WITH A NEIGHBORING CLUB AND OFFERS THE PLAYERS A NEW TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE BY HOSTING OTHER TEAMS TO PARTICIPATE AND CREATE COMPETITION LEVELS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR THE LOWER LEVEL TEAMS. OVER 2,000 PLAYERS AND COACHES PARTICIPATE FROM 153 TEAMS AND INCLUDES AN ADDITIONAL 23 VOLUNTEERS.
