TO SUPPORT ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS THAT PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE AND OBSERVE ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND TO PROVDE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS IN THE GENERAL MUSKEGON AREA.

Part 3 - Line 4a
THE OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAM HOSTED OVER 1,200 SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM OVER 10 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS. THE FACILITY CONTINUES TO BE USED FOR RESEARCH, CAPTURING, INSPECTING, AND BANDING OF DOZENS OF BIRD SPECIES. WE ESTIMATE THAT APPROXIMATELY 20,000 PEOPLE VISITED THE PRESERVE FOR A VARIETY OF RECREATIONAL PURPOSES. THE MICHIGAN ENVIRONMENTAL HALL OF FAME HELD ITS ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET AND HONORED SEVERAL OUTSTANDING EDUCATORS AND ORGANIZATIONS.
