JACKSON COMMUNITY AMBULANCE DEVOTES SUBSTANTIAL EFFORTS AND RESOURCES TO PROVIDING QUALITY PRE-HOSPITAL CARE AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE IN ITS COMMUNITIES.UNREIMBURSED SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE ELDERLY AND THE POORTHE COMPANY PROVIDES A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF ITS SERVICES TO THE ELDERLY AND POOR. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR JACKSON COMMUNITY AMBULANCE PROVIDED TRANSPORTS TO ELDERLY PATIENTS UNDER THE MEDICARE PROGRAM, AS WELL AS TO PATIENTS WHO WERE DEEMED INDIGENT UNDER STATE, COUNTY, OR MEDICAID CENTER GUIDELINES. PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICESTHE COMPANY SERVES THREE COUNTIES WITH A MEDICAL STAFF OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND PARAMEDICS.COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACTIVITIESAS A COMMUNITY-OWNED NONPROFIT, JACKSON COMMUNITY AMBULANCE RECOGNIZES THAT PART OF THEIR MISSION IS TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY. THE COMPANY COORDINATES VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND OFFERS THEM FREE OF CHARGE TO THE COMMUNITY.OUR GOALS FOR THESE PROGRAMS, WHICH ARE TARGETED TO VARIOUS AGE GROUPS, ARE THE FOLLOWING: TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON EMS IN GENERAL AND JCA SPECIFICALLY AND TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS ON SAFETY, INJURY PREVENTION AND HEALTH IMPROVEMENT. THE TYPES OF PROGRAMS, EVENTS AND APPEARANCES ARE ILLUSTRATED BELOW:CAMP 911 (SINCE 1996) - FREE DAY CAMP FOR 8 TO 12 YEAR OLDS, WHERE THEY LEARN CPR, FIRST AID, INJURY PREVENTION AND ALL ABOUT EMS CAREERS. THE 2- DAY CAMPS ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE SERVICE AREA DURING THE SUMMER.ANNUAL EMS RECOGNITION AWARDS (SINCE 2005) - PRESENTING COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS AND LIFE SAVING AWARDS.
