GENERAL SUPPORT OF OPERATIONS OF LENAWEE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL:LENAWEE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES (LCM) WAS INCORPORATED ON JUNE 28, 1985. LCM HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AS AN EXEMPT ORGANIZATION UNDER INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 501(C)(3) AND IS CLASSIFIED AS A PUBLIC CHARITY UNDER CODE SECTION 509(A)(2). LCM IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL AND RELIGIOUS MINISTRIES IN THE ADRIAN, MICHIGAN AREA. LCM MINISTRIES INCLUDE A NONDENOMINATIONAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL FOR GRADES PREKINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12 WHICH IS OPERATED BY LENAWEE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (LCS). LCS IS AN EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION WHICH MAINTAINS A REGULAR FACULTY AND CURRICULUM AND NORMALLY HAS A REGULARLY ENROLLED BODY OF STUDENTS IN ATTENDANCE AT THE SCHOOL FACILITY. LCS EXISTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FAMILY AND THE CHURCH TO INTEGRATE BIBLICAL TRUTH FOR LIFE WITH A COMMITMENT OF GLORIFYING JESUS CHRIST THROUGH ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND SPIRITUAL MATURITY. LCS IS A SEPARATE NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHICH HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS AN EXEMPT ORGANIZATION BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE UNDER CODE SECTION 501(C)(3) AND CLASSIFIED AS A PUBLIC CHARITY UNDER CODE SECTION 509(A)(1) BY VIRTUE OF CODE SECTION 170(B)(1)(A)(II). LCM IS THE SOLE MEMBER OF LCS AND ACTS TO COORDINATE AND SUPERVISE ALL SCHOOL PROGRAMS, PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES.
CHRISTIAN FAMILY CENTRE - OPERATIONS, MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP:LCM MINISTRIES ALSO INCLUDE OPERATION OF A MULTIPURPOSE FACILITY WHICH IS ADJACENT TO LCS OPERATING UNDER THE NAME "CHRISTIAN FAMILY CENTRE" (THE CENTRE). THE FACILITY WAS FORMERLY OPERATED BY THE CFC, A SEPARATE NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHICH WAS RECOGNIZED AS EXEMPT BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE UNDER CODE SECTION 501(C)(3) AND QUALIFIED AS A PUBLIC CHARITY UNDER CODE SECTIONS 509(A)(2) AND 509(A)(3). LCM WAS THE CONTROLLING MEMBER OF THE CFC UNTIL THE TWO CORPORATIONS MERGED EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007. LCM WAS THE SURVIVING CORPORATION IN THE MERGER.THE CENTRE MINISTRIES EXIST TO SERVE LENAWEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING A WORLD-CLASS CHOICE FOR PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL WELLNESS WITH JESUS CHRIST BEING THE CENTER. THE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES AT THE CENTRE FACILITY CONTRIBUTE IMPORTANTLY TO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF LCM CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES BY INSTRUCTING AND TRAINING INDIVIDUALS TO IMPROVE OR DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES AND BY PROMOTING AND BENEFITING THE GENERAL HEALTH OF COMMUNITIES SERVED BY LCM MINISTRIES. DURING THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR, THE CENTRE FACILITY OFFERED A NUMBER OF ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING RACQUETBALL, VOLLEYBALL, SWIMMING AND A WIDE RANGE OF OUTDOOR FIELD GAMES TO ASSIST AND SUPPLEMENT THE EDUCATIONAL FUNCTION AND RELATED EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OF LCS DURING AND AFTER NORMAL SCHOOL HOURS. THE CENTRE FACILITIES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FOR THEATER PRODUCTIONS AND PLAYS, LECTURES AND GYMNASIUM ACTIVITIES. THE CENTRE FACILITY OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF PROGRAMS, SEMINARS AND CONCERTS EMPHASIZING FAMILY VALUES AND CLASSES ON EXERCISE, FITNESS, AND WELLNESS INCLUDING CUSTOMIZED FITNESS CLASSES FOR SENIORS AND ACCESS TO HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATION SEMINARS. OTHER INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS HAVE FOCUSED ON ATHLETICS WITH VOLLEYBALL AND SOCCER CLINICS, SWIMMING INSTRUCTION FOR ALL AGE GROUPS, LIFEGUARD TRAINING AND AEROBICS CLASSES. NUMEROUS ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH HAVE BEEN SPONSORED THAT ARE INSTRUCTIONAL IN NATURE WITH ORGANIZED ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES. THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY PARK IS LOCATED ADJACENT TO LCS. IT INCLUDES A WALKING PATH, NATURE TRAIL, SAND VOLLEYBALL COURTS, FRISBEE GOLF, FOUR PAVILIONS, A BASKETBALL COURT, CHARCOAL GRILLS, A TOT LOT PLAYGROUND, AND SOFTBALL AND SOCCER FIELDS. ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE IN THE PARK FURTHER THE EXEMPT PURPOSES OF LCM AND LCS.LCM PARTNERS WITH OTHER CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE AREA TO CO-SPONSOR PROGRAMS TO EXPAND MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES AND AVAILABLE BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES AS PART OF ITS EXEMPT PURPOSES, INCLUDING FREE2PLAY ACADEMY, ADRIAN CHAMBER AND MUSIC FOR LIFE INSTITUTE.
