THE MICHIGAN ROWING ASSOCIATION (MRA) IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT PRIMARILY FURTHERS AND SUPPORTS THE SPORT OF ROWING FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ROWING TEAM (UMRT), AND SUPPORTS ROWING IN THE ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION IS TIED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ROWING TEAM IN THAT THE INCOME INCURRED BY THE PROGRAM FALLS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF MRA. MRA WAS FORMED SINCE IT WAS SEEN AS A MORE STABLE ORGANIZATION THAN UMRT. FOR LIABILITY REASONS MRA DOES NOT HOLD THE TITLE TO THE UMRT EQUIPMENT.
