THE STRATFORD SHAKESPEAREAN FESTIVAL OF AMERICA (FOA) RECEIVES TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTIONS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES IN SUPPORT OF SHAKESPEAREAN AND OTHER CLASSICAL AND CONTEMPORARY THEATRE. FOA PROVIDES A COMMUNICATION VEHICLE FOR MEMBER GROUPS WHO SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL THROUGH EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT AND FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES. FOA PROMOTES INTEREST IN, AND THE STUDY OF, THE ARTS, THROUGH TWO EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: WORKSHOPS IN MICHIGAN THAT INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO SHAKESPEARE AND SUPPORT TEACHERS IN THE DRAMA-BASED TEACHING OF SHAKESPEARE'S PLAYS, AND SUPPORT OF THE BIRMINGHAM CONSERVATORY FOR CLASSICAL THEATRE TRAINING.

FOA AWARDED $3,458,714 IN GRANTS IN SUPPORT OF THE STRATFORD SHAKESPEAREAN FESTIVAL OF CANADA'S ACTIVITIES IN 2022. 58,435 TICKETS WERE SOLD FOR THE STRATFORD SHAKESPEAREAN FESTIVAL TO VISITORS ORIGINATING IN THE UNITED STATES IN 2022. FOA MAINTAINS LOW OPERATING EXPENSES AND IS ABLE TO DEDICATE THE MAJORITY OF FUNDS IT RAISES TO SUPPORT THE CREATION OF SHAKESPEAREAN AND OTHER CLASSICAL THEATRE.
