THE YOUTH ENERGY SQUAD (YES) GROWS THE NEXT GENERATION OF GREEN LEADERS BY ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS IN HANDS-ON AND PLACE-BASED PROJECTS THAT MAKE THEIR HOMES, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES MORE SUSTAINABLE FOR EVERYONE. WE FACILITATE STUDENT-LED GREEN TEAMS IN MORE THAN 50 DETROIT AREA SCHOOLS AND PROVIDE WEEKLY, PLACED-BASED EDUCATION PROGRAMMING TO ADDRESS PRESSING ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES.
ECO-D (FORMERLY RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION) - ECO-D PROVIDES RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS WITH RESOURCES TO ACHIEVE HEALTHY AFFORDABLE, RESILEINT AND ENERGY SECURE HOMES AND NEIGHBORHOODS. THIS WORK INCLUDES TEACHING RESIDENTS LOW AND NO COST WAYS TO REDUCE THEIR ENERGY AND WATER CONSUMPTION, IN-HOME NERGY ASSESSMENTS AND EFFICIENCY UPGRAGES, AND RESEARSH AND ADVOCACY FOR A STRONGER UTILITY AFFORDABILITY SAFETY NET.
