EXTERNAL FUNDING: HWMC'S MAIN PROGRAM IS TO FUND PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY. REQUESTS ARE EVALUATED FOR HOW THEY WILL FULFILL THIS MISSION. THERE IS NO DIRECT COST FOR THIS EVALUATION AS ALL ACTIVITIES ARE PERFORMED BY VOLUNTEER MEMBERS BUT THIS IS OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE DURING MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS AND THROUGHOUT THE VARIOUS FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES. OVER THE PAST FISCAL YEAR WE APPROVED 15 PROJECTS FOR A TOTAL OF $69,905. WE GAVE $50K FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TWO CITY PARKS, ~$8K FOR ANNUAL CITY REC. ACTIVITIES, $4K FOR SOCCER TEAM EQUIP. AT THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL, ~$2.3K FOR SCHOOL ROBOTICS CLUB EQUIP., ~$2.2K FOR LIBRARY VOX BOOKS SUBSCRIPTIONS, $2K FOR CITY POOL LIFEGUARD CPR TRAINING, AND SMALLER AMOUNTS TO LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS
INTERNAL MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES: THIS PROGRAM REPRESENTS MEMBERSHIP DUES AND ASSESSMENTS RELATED TO MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES. AS OF THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR WE HAD 144 ACTIVE VOLUNTEER MEMBERS. ON AVERAGE OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS HOST 45 MEMBERS IN WHICH WE DISCUSS HWMC BUSINESS AND EVALUATE AND VOTE ON FUNDING REQUESTS.
