THE COMMONWEALTH CLUB IS A BRITISH-AMERICAN SOCIAL AND NETWORKING CLUB. THE CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1962 AS A GATHERING PLACE FOR BRITISH EXPATRIATES LIVING IN THE METRO DETROIT AND SURROUNDING AREAS TO MEET AND HAVE FUN IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF FRIENDSHIP AND MUTUAL SUPPORT. WHAT BEGAN AS A PREDOMINATELY BRITISH CLUB HAS CHANGED COMPLEXION WITH THE TIMES, BUT OUR GOAL, THE PRESERVATION AND DEMONSTRATION OF OUR CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONS, HAS NOT DEVIATED OVER THE YEARS. MEMBERS HAVE INTRODUCED FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND COLLEAGUES TO OUR RANKS. WE ENJOY THE SUPPORT OF OF A CROSS SECTION OF SOCIETY, CREATING A VERITABLE "UNITED NATIONS" WITHIN OUR MEMBERSHIP - ALL WITH THE COMMON GOAL OF PRESERVING AND ENJOYING BRITISH TRADITIONS, ART, LITERATURE, MUSIC AND HERITAGE.
