THE MASONRY INSTITUTE OF MICHIGAN INC. IS DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE MASONRY INDUSTRY. THE INSTITUTE PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE INDUSTRY AND PUBLIC, INDISCRIMINATELY. THE INSTITUTE'S GOAL IS TO PROMOTE QUALITY MASONRY, QUALITY MASONRY UNITS AND MATERIALS, FUNCTIONAL AND EFFICIENT DESIGNS, AND QUALITY WORKMANSHIP. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE MASONRY INSTITUTE OF MICHIGAN ARE: 1. TO PROVIDE UP-TO-DATE DESIGN INFORMATION TO ARCHITECTS AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS. 2.TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL MASONRY DATA TO MASON CONTRACTORS, BRICKLAYERS AND INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS. 3. MASONRY ALTERNATE DESIGN -ENCOURAGE USE OF MASONRY FOR ALL NEW BUILDING PROJECTS. OUR GOAL IS FOR MASONRY TO GAIN MARKET SHARE AS STRUCTURAL BUILDING SYSTEM IN NEW PROJECTS. WE DO THIS BY REACHING OUT AND PROMOTING ADVANTAGES OF MASONRY TO THE BUILDER, DESIGNER, ARCHITECT, GENERAL CONTRACTOR, AND OWNERS OF NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
THE MASONRY INSTITUTE OF MICHIGAN PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS (TECHNICAL SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS). MIM WANTS TO PROVIDES ITSMEMBERS WITH THE MOST CURRENT, UP TO DATE TECHNICAL DATA.
THE MASONRY INSTITUTE OF MICHIGAN PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE VERBAL ON-SITE REVIEWS, DESIGN/PLAN REVIEWS AND INQUIRIES (ANSWERING MASONRY RELATED DESIGN AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS).
