THE SOCIETY PREPARES THE NEXT GENERATION OF A DIVERSE, INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC WORKFORCE THROUGH INTERNSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS, TRAVEL GRANTS, AND TARGETED WORKSHOPS ON TOPICS SUCH AS PUBLISHING, COMMUNICATION AND RESEARCH COLLABORATION. THE SOCIETY PROVIDES SMALL, COMPETITIVE GRANTS TO MEMBERS TO CONDUCT EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TO IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE OF AQUATIC SYSTEMS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON UNDERSERVED REGIONS.
