THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE SOCIETY IS TO PRESERVE ITEMS OF HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE TO MONROE COUNTY, MICHIGAN INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SUPPORT OF THE MONROE COUNTY MUSEUM, PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORIC RIVER RAISIN BATTLEFIELD SITE, AND HOLDING HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETINGS AND HISTORICAL SPECIAL EVENTS.
