JUST TRANSITION LISTENING PROJECTTHE GOAL OF THE LISTENING PROJECT IS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CONCERNS AND NEEDS OF RICHMOND COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE HISTORICALLY SUFFERED THE GREATEST HARM FROM GENERATION OF FOSSIL FUEL OPERATIONS IN OUR CITY OF RICHMOND.HERE ARE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR IMPACTS:*CULTIVATED 10 BIPOC YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT ORGANIZERS WITH DIRECT SKILLS TRAINING FROM CANVASSING TO DIGITAL ORGANIZING TO CREATE A NEW ERA OF LEADERSHIP IN THE RICHMOND PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE*SURVEYED 350 RICHMOND ENGLISH AND SPANISH SPEAKING RESIDENTS IN AREAS THAT ARE MOST HARMED BY POLLUTION ABOUT THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND EMPOWERED COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO SHARE THEIR STORIES ON THE LISTENING PROJECT POSCAAST*DEVELOPED THE LISTENING PROJECT CURRICULUM AS AN ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE PODCAST AS A 21ST-CENTURY EDUCATIONAL TOOL FOR A DIGITAL STORYTELLING, ORAL HISTORY AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION, AND ART ACTIVISM AS WAYS TO ACTIVATE YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY TO FIGHT CLIMATE CRISIS IN RICHMOND
