SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON THE STUDY AND CULTURE OF INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL MUSIC. PERFORMED A FULL SEASON OF 9 CONCERTS FROM NOVEMBER TO MAY, OFFERED FOR LIVE AUDIENCES WHEN ALLOWED AND REMOTELY. PROVIDED "POP-UP" CHAMBER CONCERTS IN QUINCY AND SURROUNDING RURAL TOWNS TO BRING LIVE MUSIC TO ESSENTIAL WORKERS AND OTHERS. THE PANDEMIC RESTRICTED IN-PERSON AUDIENCE CAPACITY. HOSTED AUDIENCES AT DRESS REHEARSALS TO DOUBLE OUR LIVE CAPACITY. PROVIDED FREE ADMISSION FOR AGE 18 AND UNDER TO ALL CONCERTS AND FREE IN-PERSON ADMISSION TO EVERYONE FROM NOVEMBER TO APRIL UNTIL CAPACITY LIMITS INCREASED. PROVIDED VIDEO PRODUCTIONS ALL SEASON TO ISOLATED RESIDENTS AT 11 NURSING HOMES AND THE ILLINOIS VETERANS HOME. OFFERED A REMOTE TICKET OPTION TO ALL CONCERTS. PARTNERED WITH WGEM-TV TO PRODUCE THE HIGHEST QUALITY VIDEOS POSSIBLE. DEVELOPED AND PROFESSIONALLY PRODUCED A VIRTUAL EDUCATION TOOL FOR CHILDREN: "MEET THE INSTRUMENTS- AND PROVIDED A CLOSE-UP INSTRUMENT INTRODUCTION TO OVER 100 SCHOOLS IN PLACE OF OUR ANNUAL EDUCATION CONCERTS. COLLABORATIVE PROJECT WITH WGEM-TV PRODUCED SIX 1-HOUR PUBLIC SUMMER BROADCASTS OF THE SEASON'S ORCHESTRA & CHORUS PERFORMANCES.
QUINCY AREA YOUTH ORCHESTRA PROVIDED MUSIC INSTRUCTION & PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES TO AREA STUDENT MUSICIANS IN GRADES 7 THROUGH 12. STARTUP WAS DELAYED & MOVED TO A NEW VENUE. WEEKLY IN-PERSON REHEARSALS FROM FEBRUARY TO APRIL FOLLOWED HEALTH GUIDELINES. CONCERT PERFORMED ON APRIL 20 FEATURED WORKS BY 8 COMPOSERS. STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED RECEIVED FREE TUITION. PANDEMIC REDUCED PARTICIPATION: MUSICIANS WERE FROM 10 SCHOOLS IN 7 COUNTIES.
QUINCY AREA YOUTH CHORUS CONCERT CHOIR (GRADES 7 TO 12) AND KINDERCHOR (GRADES 3 TO 7) MET WEEKLY IN-PERSON FROM SEPTEMBER TO MAY FOLLOWING HEALTH GUIDELINES. PERFORMED TWO CONCERTS FEATURING SONGS IN SEVERAL LANGUAGES. STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED RECEIVED FREE TUITION. NOVEMBER CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO STATE CAPACITY MANDATES WAS MADE UP IN FEBRUARY. SEASON EXTENDED TO MAY FOR SPRING CONCERT. PANDEMIC REDUCED PARTICIPATION: STUDENT MUSICIANS WERE FROM 15 SCHOOLS IN 7 COUNTIES.
ENCORE SYMPHONY VOLUNTEER COUNCIL PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SUPPORT AND GENERAL FUNDRAISING, WITH A FOCUS ON YOUTH MUSIC EDUCATION. PROVIDED OVER 16,000 TO THE QSOA AND 2,060 IN GRANTS TO HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIANS FOR SUMMER MUSIC STUDY, PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS, AND CONCERTO COMPETITION AWARDS, AND QUINCY'S PUBLIC & PAROCHIAL SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAMS. 1,377 WAS GRANTED TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT THE QSOA.
