TRANSITIONAL JOBS: THE HALLMARK OF GEORGIA WORKS! PROGRAMMATIC OFFERING IS FULLTIME, TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT. AFTER A TRIAL PERIOD, MEN ARE ASSIGNED TO A "STREET TEAM". DRESSED IN GEORGIA WORKS! UNIFORMS, THE MEN CLEAN AND CARE FOR THE STREETS AND SIDEWALKS IN AND AROUND DOWNTOWN ATLANTA. FOR THEIR EFFORTS ON THE "STREET TEAM", THE TRAINEES ARE PAID $15.00 PER WEEK DURING THE FIRST 30 DAYS IN THE PROGRAM. GEORGIA WORKS! COLLABORATES WITH NUMEROUS INTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS TO PROVIDE PROGRAM TRAINEES WITH "STREET TEAM" JOB OPPORTUNITIES. AFTER 30 DAYS ON THE "STREET TEAM", PARTICIPANTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A CONTRACT JOB OPPORTUNITY WITH ONE OF GEORGIA WORKS! CORPORATE PARTNERS CURRENTLY, MORE THAN 20 ATLANTA COMPANIES PARTNER WITH THE ORGANIZATION. JOB OPPORTUNITIES RANGE FROMMAINTENANCE WORK TO SKILLED TRADES, DEPENDING UPON THE ENROLLEE'S SKILL SET AND INTERESTS. PARTICIPANTS CONTINUE TO RECEIVE A STIPEND OF $7.40 PER HOUR, PAID TO THEM VIA GEORGIA WORKS!
