Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
THE WINTER OF 2021 WAS SPENT FINISHING THE BUILDING ADDITION TO THE MUSEUM. THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM OPENED ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND OF 2021, AFTER BEING CLOSED FOR THE 2020 SEASON DUE TO COVID-19. A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY WAS HELD TO OPEN THE NEW BUILDING ADDITION. ALSO PREMIERED AT THAT OPENING WAS A NEW DISPLAY OF THE TASHMOO BELL (THE BELL FROM THE TASHMOO STEAMER), WHICH WAS PROVIDED ON LOAN BY THE HENRY FORD IN DEARBORN. THE BELL WAS A GREAT ADDITION TO THE MUSEUM AND SEEMED TO BE THE FOCUS AND OF INTEREST TO MANY VISITORS. A GRANT FROM CLAY TWP. PROVIDED THE FUNDS TO OPEN A KIDS CORNER, WHICH PROVIDED OUR YOUNGER VISITORS A SPACE AND ACTIVITIES TO DO WHILE AT THE MUSEUM. OUR FOCUS IN 2021 WAS THE MUSEUM AND WELCOMING BACK VISITORS. THE REMODELING OF THE ORIGINAL MUSEUM SPACE HAS CONTINUED OVER THE 2022 WINTER MONTHS, AND WE AGAIN PLAN TO HAVE A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY TO OPEN THE MUSEUM ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND OF 2022 TO SHOWCASE THE COMPLETED REMODELING OF THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL SPACE AS WELL AS UPDATED AND NEW EXHIBITS.
