PHILIPPINES: YOUTH EDUCATION & EMPOWERMENT: CATALYST LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (CLA) UTILIZED A HYBRID TRAINING MODULE THIS YEAR TRAINING 25 TEAM LEADERS ONSITE WHO WERE THEN DISPATCHED TO 5 OUTPOSTS ACROSS VARIOUS PARTS OF MINDANAO. THESE TEAM LEADERS FACILITATED THE ACADEMY FOR TWO WEEKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH GLOBAL IMPACT'S ONLINE PLATFORM (CLA 2.0) WITH A TOTAL OF 84 STUDENTS PARTICIPATING. LIMITLESS YOUTH SUMMIT 306 PARTICIPANTS WERE TAUGHT ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH, ANTI-TRAFFICKING EDUCATION AROUND CHILD TRAFFICKING AND ONLINE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDRE. THE FIRST EVENT WAS HELD IN JULY AT TWO OF THE CLA OUTPOSTS AND THE SECOND EVENT WAS HELD IN SEPTEMBER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DAVAO ORIENTAL PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT. THROUGH THE HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, SIX DESERVING BUT NEEDY STUDENTS RECEIVED FUNDING TOWARDS TUITION AND RELATED EXPENSES ENABLING THEM TO CONTINUE THEIR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION. EACH STUDENT ALSO RECEIVED A NEW LAPTOP THIS YEAR, EQUIPPING THEM FOR SUCCESS AND HELPING THEM REACH THEIR GRADUATION GOALS. ANTI-TRAFFICKING WORK: 100 SURGEONS, DOCTORS AND MEDICAL FRONTLINERS FROM THE LEADING HOSPITAL IN MINDANAO, SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES WERE TRAINED IN ANTI-TRAFFICKING AWARENESS FOR MEDICAL PERSONNEL AND INCLUDED TOPICS ON HOW TO IDENTIFY AND REPORT SUSPECTED CASES OF ABUSE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. WORK CONTINUED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AND COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO FURTHER THE ANTI-TRAFFICKING MISSION THROUGH OUR WEEKLY RADIO PROGRAM USAPANG OFW WHICH IS BROADCAST THROUGHOUT PHILIPPINES AND INTERNATIONALLY VIA INTERNET TO INFORM, EDUCATE AND REACH COUNTLESS OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN MAY, A TIK TOK CONTEST WAS HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER AGENCIES TO INSPIRE, EMPOWER AND EDUCATE AROUND THE TOPIC OF ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS. SOCIAL WORK INTERNS RECEIVED HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS TRAINING, ONLINE TRAINING AND EVENTS WERE HELD IN CONNECTION WITH THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING (DECEMBER 12TH) ALSO IN DECEMBER, GLOBAL IMPACT RECEIVED TWO AWARDS FROM THE INTER-AGENCY COUNCIL AGAINST TRAFFICKING (NETWORK XI): THE OUTSTANDING NGO AWARD AND THE BREAK ALL CHAINS AWARD. SPECIAL PROJECTS: DISASTER RELIEF: GLOBAL IMPACT PROVIDED RICE, DRINKING WATER AND CLOTHING TO APPROXIMATELY 400 FAMILIES AFFECTED BY TYPHOON RAI (ODETTA) IN SURIAGAO CITY. PARTNERING WITH MAHARLIKA CHARITY FOUNDATION AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, GLOBAL IMPACT RAISED DONATIONS TO SPONSOR 30 LIFESAVING BREAST CANCER SURGERIES FOR WOMEN IN NEED IN SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES. CHRISTMAS OUTREACHES THIS YEAR EXTENDED TO 37 BOYS AND 13 STAFF AT A LOCAL BOY'S HOME, 7 CHILDREN IN DAVAO ORIENTAL, AND OVER 500 INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IN LOWER RIZAL. A CHRISTMAS OUTREACH WAS ALSO CONDUCTED WITH OUR ONLINE LIMITLESS COMMUNITIES WITH 10 GROUPS/CHURCHES ATTENDING AS WELL AS AN IN-PERSON EVENT FOR CATALYST LEADERSHIP ACEDEMY ALUMNI WITH OVER 100 ATTENDEES.
UKRAINE: LIVING PEARL CHILDREN'S HOME: 2021 MARKED OUR 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARYOF CARING FOR ORPHANED, ABANDONED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN IN UKRAINE PROVIDING A FULL-TIME RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME IN A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT INCLUDING MEALS, SHELTER, MEDICAL TREATMENTS, EDUCATION, ENRICHMENT, AND SPIRITUAL ACTIVITES. 43 CHILDREN (ON AVERAGE) CALLED LIVING PEARL THEIR FULL-TIME HOME THIS PAST YEAR. 78 CHILDREN WERE CARED FOR IN TOTAL (BOTH FULL TIME RESIDENTIAL CARE AND PART TIME CARE). 9 CHILDREN WERE PLACED INTO LOVING, PERMANENT, ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. THREE CHILDREN GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND WENT ON TO COLLEGE. OUR OLDER KIDS EXPERIENCED AN AMAZING VACATION TO THE BLACK SEA. 5 CHILDREN EXCELLED ATHLETICALLY WINNING FIRST PLACE IN THE ALL-UKRAINIAN AND EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS. 11 CHILDREN WHO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR WERE IDENTIFIED AS NEEDING INTERVENTION AND ADDITIONAL HELP IN AREAS SUCH AS LEARNING AND SOCIALIZATION ALL PASSED THEIR SPECIFIC ASSIGNED MILESTONES AND MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS. ANNUAL PROJECTS: THE SCHOOL SUPPLY CAMPAIGN RAISED FUNDS TO COVER THE FULL BUDGET FOR FALL CLOTHING AND SHOES, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, TEXTBOOKS, AND SCHOOL LUNCHES FOR 34 SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN-OUR LARGEST NUMBER EVER. THE CHRISTMAS OUTREACH CAMPAIGN RAISED FUNDS TO PROVIDE FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACHES WITH PARTNER CHURCHES TO LOCAL IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES AS WELL AS A COMBINED CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AND 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY FOR THE CHILDREN AND STAFF OF LIVING PEARL.
