POLICY AND GOVERNMENT RELATIONS - THE CORNERSTONE FOR AHAM'S GOVERNMENT WORK IN THE USA AND CANADA IS PROVIDING ADVOCACY, ANALYSES AND REPORTS ON FEDERAL AND STATE/PROVINCIAL LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS AFFECTING THE APPLIANCE INDUSTRY. GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEES ARE MAINTAINED. ENERGY, CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY, BUSINESS REGULATION, ENVIRONMENT, TRADE, REPAIR & TECHNOLOGY ISSUES ARE AMONG KEY ISSUES FOLLOWED. INDUSTRY POSITIONS ARE ESTABLISHED THROUGH COMMITTEES AND COMMUNICATED THROUGH TESTIMONY, WRITTEN STATEMENTS AND REGULAR MEETINGS WITH OFFICIALS.
