CENTERS: EACH USO OF ILLINOIS CENTER OFFERS ACTIVE DUTY, GUARD AND RESERVE MILITARY AND MILITARY DEPENDENTS ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME IN A FRIENDLY, WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT. A FULL ROSTER OF FREE AMENITIES IS OFFERED AT EVERY USO OF ILLINOIS CENTER THAT HELPS TO DELIVER OUR THANKS INCLUDING: WI-FI ACCESS, LOUNGE FACILITIES, COMPUTERS, TELEPHONES AND VIDEO MESSAGING, SNACKS, TVS, DVDS AND VIDEO GAMING SYSTEMS, LIBRARIES, COMMUNICATION AND TRAVEL ASSISTANCE, MAPS AND DIRECTIONS TO AREA ATTRACTIONS, INFORMATION ON SPECIAL MILITARY DISCOUNTS AND SOCIAL SERVICE INFORMATION RESOURCES.
MILITARY FAMILY PROGRAMS: MILITARY PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES FACE UNIQUE AND TREMENDOUS CHALLENGES: FREQUENT TRANSFERS, LONG DEPLOYMENTS CAUSING SEPARATION FROM FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BEING A STRANGER IN A NEW PLACE, RIGOROUS TRAINING, COMBAT, AS WELL AS THE VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE WOUNDS OF WAR. USO MILITARY FAMILY PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO LIFT THE SPIRITS OF MILITARY AND MILITARY FAMILY MEMBERS AND PROVIDE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT AS THEY RECONNECT WHILE ENJOYING RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WITH THEIR LOVED ONES.
COMMUNITY CONNECTION PROGRAMS: THE USO OF ILLINOIS PRIDES ITSELF ON BEING THE BRIDGE BETWEEN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND OUR NATION'S MILITARY AND MILITARY FAMILIES. THE USO RELIES ON THE SUPPORT OF 630 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS, AS WELL AS NUMEROUS CORPORATE PARTNERS AND SPONSOR ORGANIZATIONS, TO HELP FACILITATE THE CENTERS AND PROGRAMS THAT SERVE OUR NATION'S MILITARY. COMMUNITY CONNECTION PROGRAMS RANGE FROM SERVING DINNERS AT USO GREAT LAKES AND BUILDING CARE PACKAGES FOR OUR TROOPS ABROAD, TO OFFERING FREE TICKETS TO AREA SPORTING AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.
