IN 2021, KATHERINE SHAW BETHEA HOSPITAL (KSB) HAD 3,224 INPATIENT VISITS AND 246,728 OUTPATIENT VISITS. KSB IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF HEALTHCARE REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY. KSB SUBSIDIZES THE COST OF TREATING PATIENTS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY AND THOSE WHO RECEIVE GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE WHERE REIMBURSEMENT IS LIMITED. THE COST OF CHARITY CARE, BASED ON THE HOSPITAL'S COST-TO-CHARGE RATIO, PROVIDED BY THE HOSPITAL, WAS APPROXIMATELY $67,000 IN 2021.KSB PROVIDES 24-HOUR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES STAFFED BY FULL-TIME PHYSICIANS.
