CENTRAL TO GROVER CENTERS SUCCESSES IN 2021 WAS THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING. CLASSROOM CONNECT, WHICH WAS DEVELOPED IN 2020, CONTINUED TO BE EXPANDED UPON, AND TWO NEW EXHIBITS ROOTED IN INDIANA STATE ACADEMIC STANDARDS WERE LAUNCHED: PUSHING INK:MEASURING HISTORY BY THE COLUMN INCH AND EVALUATING PUBLIC SQUARE.THESE TWO EXHIBITS SERVED AS ONE OF THE FOCAL POINTS FOR A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP HELD AT GROVER CENTER. OPEN TO EDUCATORS IN GRADES 3, 8, AND 11 ACROSS SHELBY COUNTY, THE WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTED RESOURCES AVAILABLE AT GROVER CENTER AND GAVE ATTENDEES A BEHIND-THE-SCENES GLIMPSE AT GROVER CENTERS COLLECTIONS.A SUMMER HISTORY PROGRAM WAS ALSO LAUNCHED. HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GIRLS INC., PARTICIPANTS VISITED GROVER CENTER, THE HENDRICKS CABIN, AND MORRISON PARK AND ENGAGED IN HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES, LIKE PLAYING THE DULCIMER AND BUTTER CHURNING, HELPED PROVIDE INPUT ON AN UPCOMING EXHIBIT, AND LOOKED FOR ITEMS IN A SCAVENGER HUNT
