OVATION IS A PARENT SUPPORT GROUP FOR THE CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL ("CHS") CHORAL DEPARTMENT. THE CHS CHORAL DIRECTORS SERVE AS CHAIRS OF THE ORGANIZATION. OVATION PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN PROVIDING FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO THE CHS CHORAL DIRECTORS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO TEACH THE STUDENTS TO ASPIRE TO MUSICAL EXCELLENCE, DEVELOP TEAMWORK SKILLS AND GROW AS INDIVIDUALS. THE MISSION AND PURPOSE OF OVATION IS TO SUPPORT THE CHS CHORAL DEPARTMENT THROUGH FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND DONATIONS OF TIME, TALENT AND TREASURE.

CHOREOGRAPHY, MUSICAL ARRANGEMENTS, COSTUME EXPENSES, CLINICIAN AND INSTRUMENTALIST FEES, EQUIPMENT USE AND OTHER SUPPORT BENEFITING ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE CHS CHORAL PROGRAM. DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR, MORE THAN 400 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM.
SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR PROGRAM. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS HELP SUPPORT THE FUTURE COLLEGIATE EDUCATION OF CARMEL CHOIR ALUMNI WHO HAVE POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROGRAM DURING THEIR TIME IN HIGH SCHOOL.
THE CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL "SUMMER SPECTACULAR" IS A SHOW CHOIR CAMP HELD EACH SUMMER AS AN OUTREACH TO THE STUDENTS IN THE CARMEL COMMUNITY AND IS A RECRUITING TOOL TO DEVELOP FUTURE CHS CHORAL PROGRAM STUDENTS. IN THE SIXTH YEAR OF THE CAMP, 175 STUDENTS IN GRADES 5-9 PARTICIPATED IN A WEEK LONG PROGRAM FOCUSING ON MUSICAL DEVELOPMENT AND CHOREOGRAPHY. EACH GROUP WORKED WITH A PROFESSIONAL CHOREOGRAPHER AND A PROFESSIONAL CHORAL DIRECTOR TO LEARN A SET OF MUSIC, WHICH WAS THEN PRESENTED VIA VIDEO AT THE END OF THE WEEK DUE TO COVID. CURRECT CHS STUDENTS SERVE AS COUNSELORS FOR THE PRORAM. THE CAMP HELPS CONNECT THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PREPARES THEM FOR THEIR FUTURE YEARS AT CHS.
