WE SUPPORT SEMINARS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY BY MAKING OUR PROPERTIES AVAILABLE FOR USE AND BY ASSISTING ORGANIZATIONS THAT CONDUCT SUCH ACTIVITIES.


THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES WERE MAINTAINED AND IMPROVED:THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES WERE MAINTAINED AND IMPROVED: THE ROOFLESS CHURCH THE ROOFLESS CHURCH WAS DESIGNED BY PHILLIP JOHNSON OF NEW YORK CITY. IT WON THE FIRST HONOR AWARD OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS IN 1961. MANY WEDDINGS ARE PERFORMED IN THE CHURCH WITH MINISTERS OF DIFFERENT DENOMINATIONS PRESIDING OVER EACH. GATE HOUSE THE FIRST HOUSE BUILT BY THE HARMONISTS IN 1814. IT WAS PURCHASED BY THE ROBERT LEE BLAFFER FOUNDATION. IT WAS MOVED FROM IT'S LOCATION ON MAIN STREET. IT HAS BEEN RESTORED WITH THE ORIGINAL LOGS AND PRESERVED. IT HOUSES ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. MOTHER SUPERIOR THE MOTHER SUPERIOR HOUSE AND KITCHEN ANNEX ARE LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF MAIN AND GRANARY. THE MOTHER SUPERIOR IS USED AS LODGING FOR VISITING GUESTS OF THE FOUNDATION. THE POET HOUSE THE POET HOUSE IS LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF WEST AND GRANARY. THE POET HOUSE IS USED AS LODGING FOR VISITING GUESTS OF THE FOUNDATION. IT PERIODI


THE TOWN OF NEW HARMONY WAS FOUNDED IN 1814 AS A UTOPIAN SOCIETY. IT HAS A LONG HISTORY OF CULTURAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT AND ACTIVITY WHICH CONTINUES INTO THE PRESENT DAY. IT IS RECOGNIZED WORLD WIDE FOR IT'S UNIQUE HISTORIC HERITAGE AND IT'S MELDING OF THIS LEGACY WITH A UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE WHICH PROMOTES AND ENCOURAGES CURRENT INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN NUMEROUS AREAS OF HUMAN ENDEAVOR. THE ROBERT LEE BLAFFER FOUNDATION PRIMARY MISSION IS TO PRESERVE, PROMOTE AND SUPPORT, FINANCIALLY AND OTHERWISE, THE VARIOUS HISTORICAL AND EDUCATIONAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE TOWN OF NEW HARMONY. TO THAT END THE FOUNDATION INVITES OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO PRESENT SEMINARS, CONCERTS AND OTHER CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE HELD IN THE COMMUNITY. THESE ACTIVITIES ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION.
