SOARIN' HAWK RAPTOR REHAB'S MISSION IS TO CONSERVE OUR RAPTOR POPULATION THROUGH EDUCATION AND REHABILITATION.

REHABILITATION, SOARING HAWK RESCUED 141 RAPTORS OF 14 DIFFERENT SPECIES. RELEASES ARE USUALLY DONE BY VOLUNTEERS, WITH VIDEOS POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE. SOME RELEASES HAVE BEEN PUBLIC EVENTS, WITH ATTENDANCE RANGING FROM 100 TO 800 RESIDENTS OF INDIANA WHO ARE COMMITTED TO THE WILDLIFE. ELEVEN (11) WERE PLACED AT ZOOS AND WILDLIFE CENTERS AROUND THE COUNTRY. SOARIN HAWK HAS 24 RESIDENT EDUCATION RAPTORS THAT HAVE BEE RESCUED AND TREATED BUT WHICH ARE UNABLE TO RETURN TO THE WILD DUE TO LASTING EFFECTS OF THERE INJURIES. WE HAVE COMPLETED OUR FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION IN OUR NEW FACILITY. THE NEW FACILITY HAS IMPROVED OUR REHABILITATION THROUGH-PUT, AND ALSO ENABLED US TO OFFER ON-SITE AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMS.
EDUCATION: SOARIN HAWK VOLUNTEERS MAKES EDUCATION PRESENTATIONS AT SCHOOLS, HOME-SCHOOLERS, LIBRARIES, NATURE PARKS, NATURE GROUPS, PRIVATE EVENTS, AND COMMUNITY EVENTS. TO CONTINUE TO ACHIEVE OUR EDUCATIONAL GOALS, WE CONTINUE TO EXPAND OUR PROGRAM OFFERINGS. 1) LAST YEAR WE STARTED A NEW PROGRAM, CALLED RAPTOR ADVENTURE, WHICH IS AN ON-SITE EDUCATION PROGRAM. IT HAS BEEN A SUCCESS WITH 20 RAPTOR ADVENTURES COMPLETES. 2) OUR WEEKLY (RAPTOR) SCIENCE SEMINAR THAT IS POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA. THIS YEAR, WE HAVE DONE 56 PROGRAMS (OFF-SITE) AND 21 VIRTUAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS. ATTENDANCE HAS BEEN VERY GOOD, AVERAGING 700 FOLLOWERS.
