SEMINARS: INDIANA PEDIATRICS INC. (IPI) PROVIDES SEMINARS FOR ITS MEMBERS BY PROVIDING A CLINICAL SPEAKER THAT ADDRESSES A TOPIC OF INTEREST TO THE PHYSICIANS. IN ADDITION, IPI HOSTS A SEMINAR EACH YEAR, IN WHICH SPECIFIC CODING CHANGES/UPDATES ARE SHARED WITH MEMBERS. IT ALSO WORKS TO KEEP ITS MEMBERS UP TO DATE ON HEALTH CARE LAW CHANGES. IPI HAD 49 MEMBERS AND 4 MEMBERS FROM IU WHO SERVE VOLUNTARILY IN 2021
VACCINE GENERAL PURCHASING ORGANIZATION: IPI CONTRACTS WITH THE VACCINE MANUFACTURERS TO SERVE AS A GENERAL PURCHASING ORGANIZATION (GPO) FOR ITS MEMBERS. AS A GPO, IPI PROVIDES CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION FOR ITS MEMBERS. IPI RECEIVES AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FROM THE VACCINATION MANUFACTURERS, BASED ON PURCHASES BY ITS MEMBERS. THE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES ARE USED TO COVER THE OPERATING EXPENSES OF THE ORGANIZATION AND TO HELP OFFSET MEMBERSHIP DUES. ALL IPI PHYSICIANS STRIVE TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN IN THE STATE OF INDIANA IN ALL ASPECTS OF HEALTHCARE, INCLUDING IMMUNIZATIONS FOR THEIR PATIENTS.
MESSENGER MODEL CONTRACTING: WHEN A PHYSICIAN IS A MEMBER OF IPI AND WHEN A GROUP MESSENGER MODEL IS MADE AVAILABLE TO IPI, PHYSICIANS MAY OPT IN OR OUT OF PARTICIPATION. THE PHYSICIAN HAS THE ABILITY TO ACCEPT OR REJECT ANY HEALTH PLAN PARTICIPATION. AS A PART OF OUR ONGOING MEMBERSHIP SERVICES, IPI UPDATES MEMBERS ON CODING AND ICD10 CHANGES/UPDATES THROUGH OUR CODING SEMINAR AND CONVEYING URGENT INFORMATION BY EMAIL ON A TIMELY BASIS. IPI WORKS WITH CONTRACT HOLDERS ON THE SPECIFICS OR PROBLEMS THAT ARISE FOR THE PEDIATRIC PRACTICES.
