THE HISTORY MUSEUM PRESERVES OUR REGION'S HERITAGE AND EDUCATES THE PUBLIC THROUGH OUR COLLECTIONS, EXHIBITS, AND PROGRAMS TO DEVELOP AN INFORMED UNDERSTANDING OF THE PAST. IN 2021: 1) MAJOR EXHIBITS: VOTES FOR WOMEN, FULL CIRCLE: SHAKESPEAREAN CULTURE AT NOTRE DAME; MANUFACTURING VICTORY; SOCK'UM JOCHUM; POWER, PRODUCTION, AND PIONEERS: THE ST. JOSEPH RIVER. 2) PARTNERED WITH STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM FOR THE MANUFACTURING VICTORY EXHIBIT, THE FIRST JOINT EXHIBIT BETWEEN THE TWO MUSEUMS, AND THE THIRD ANNUAL CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE. 3) PACKED AND MOVED OVER 20,000 ITEMS DONATED FROM CHILDREN'S MUSEUM IN MISHAWAKA. 4) SERVED OVER 700 RESEARCH REQUESTS FROM PATRONS. 5) PROVIDED DISCOUNTED ADMISSIONS FOR NEARLY 1,000 VISITORS TO PROMOTE HISTORY EDUCATION. 6) INCREASED IN-PERSON PUBLIC PROGRAMS, WITH OVER 4,250 ATTENDING. 7) RE-OPENED KIDSFIRST WITH ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING; INCREASING CURRICULUM-BASED OFFERINGS. 8) INCREASED VIRTUAL PROGRAMS BY OVER 200%, WITH 28 PROGRAMS AND 19,434 VIEWS. 9) MADE MANY BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS; ARCHIVIST OFFICE AND BENDIX READING ROOM IN MUSEUM. REPLACED SIDING AND ROOF ON LEIGHTON GALLERY. REPLACED ROOF ON CARRIAGE HOUSE. ADDED CHIMNEY CAPS, REBUILD KITCHEN STEPS, AND PAINTED SEVERAL ROOMS IN THE OLIVER MANSION. BEGAN RECONSTRUCTION ON THE PUMP HOUSE. CONTINUED MAINTAINING THE HISTORIC GARDENS ALONG WITH ADDING FLOWER BEDS. 10) PARTNERED WITH WVPE FOR MUSIC IN THE GARDENS. OVER 1,200 ATTENDEES.
